We would be pleased to have you consider our vacation home for your stay in Santa Cruz. Please keep in mind that you would be staying in a private home, and we appreciate that you will treat it with the same respect you would like shown to your own home and neighbors.
 
Arrangements to stay at our home are made directly with us as the owners of the property. Our contract is intended to address various questions that may come up regarding your stay and it is quite a lengthy document. Below are some of the highlights of the contract.

Please understand taht we have attempted to address as many concerns as possible. If any questions arise before, during or after your stay, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week please contact us at info@heartofsantacruz.com or 1-831-325-4810 soon as possible.

 Agreements made by Guests include the following:

  • Check in is anytime after 3:00pm PST on your arrival date
  • Check Out is anytime prior to 11:00am PST on your departure date. Please be aware that housekeepers are often scheduled to be there and start cleaning at 11:00am and we appreciate your help in keeping their schedule.
  • Signer guest must be at least 25 years of age and will be an occupant of the unit during the entire reserved period.
  • Please note that all of Santa Cruz County has a 10:00pm noise curfew, which is every night, including weekends and holidays. We value our relationships with our neighbors and they have our phone numbers. If any Guests are being obnoxious to the neighbors, all Guests will have to vacate the property immediately without any refund of deposit or payment.
  • We understand pets are a part of the family and that is why we allow pets at our Home. Upon approval, pets are allowed to accompany guests during their stay. Note that guests are asked to clean up after their pet. This includes properly disposing of all waste material and watering the area after solids are removed so that the vegetation doesn’t die. You must also maintain control of your pet and ensure they are on leash at all appropriate times. Any complaints from neighbors regarding excessive noise or other nuisances may be cause for immediate termination of the contract and forfeiture of your reservation payment.
  • Allergies - Although we have maid service after each and every guest stay, because we allow pets in our home those guests that have allergy sensitivities should be aware that we are a pet friendly property.
  • Both units are non-smoking homes. There will be hefty penalties for any smoking in either of the homes.
  • Inclusive fees: Rental amount includes a one time linen and towel set up and basic utilities (electricity, water, gas, refuse collection, phone, internet and cable).
  • Additional fees: 
    There is a 10% Hospitality Tax
    * Cleaning fee is $150.00 per unit per stay. This amount assumes that the guests leave the unit in approximately the same condition as it was upon check in, although guests are not responsible for sanitizing the unit. If there is a need to clean beyond the average 4 hours per unit it typically takes to sanitize, there would be an additional charge owed by the Signer Guest.
    * Any fees incurred by the guests, these may include ordering "Videos on Demand" via cable service or telephone charges not covered by the provided service. 
    * Charges for replacement of any items missing from the Home, including parking permits (if applicable).
  • Cancellation, reservation & payment policy: Payment for the full amount of the Reservation must be received in writing at least 60 days prior to arrival date or it may be cancelled. We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. Reservations cancelled more than 60 days before arrival will have a full refund, at our discretion a 10% handling fee may be assessed, which is based on the full rental amount. Reservations cancelled after that time will receive a credit toward a future stay.
  • Parking near a beach is always a challenge, so we encourage you and your guests to car-pool. The Corner home has one off-street parking spot in the driveway and two visitor passes for street parking are provided for your use during your stay. The Cove Home has parking for 3 vehicles off street only. Please note that the city does patrol and ticket regularly. If additional parking arrangements are needed, please let us know. Under no circumstances are buses allowed to be parked on the street. If you are transporting guests in a bus, please contact the Owners for suggestions as to where to park it.

    We also respond to any complaints of unpermitted cars parked on the street. For this unit, all parking is off street located to the side of the unit.
